What are the Communiqué Awards?

The Communiqué Awards recognise, reward and commend excellence and best practice in healthcare communications.

Who can enter?

Entries for the Communiqué Awards may be submitted for any European, international or UK activity or programme. Entries are accepted from:

  • PR consultancy
  • Medical affairs agency
  • Public affairs/policy consultancy
  • Integrated/networked communications agency
  • Digital communications agency
  • Pharmaceutical company
  • OTC or consumer health company
  • Device manufacturers
  • NHS or healthcare provider department or body
  • Outside contractor or non-PR professional acting on behalf of (and with the full authorisation of) the client company
  • Patient or professional association
  • Charity
  • Government agency or department
  • Non-governmental organisation

When is the entry deadline?

Closing date for entries is 5 March 2020. *

  • Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form, which must be authorised by the appropriate representatives of the agency and client
  • Entries may not be withdrawn once the judging process has commenced and entry fees are non-refundable.

*A seven-day extension will be permitted to 12 March 2020 for an additional charge.

How much does it cost to enter?

  • Entry is charged at £345 + VAT (£414.00) per entry.
  • An additional £200 + VAT (£240) per entry will be payable for entries received after the closing date of Thursday 5 March 2020
  • Entries from charities/associations/healthcare providers are free of charge
  • Entries into Healthcare Communiquétor are free of charge

How do you ensure confidentiality of work submitted?

You have total control of the information that may be disclosed. Only content within the executive summary (max 200 words) may be published when reporting the finalist entries. If, in exceptional cases, you prefer to disclose only the title of your entry, please make that clear on the entry form together with the details of any visuals that are not suitable for publication. Should this be the case, we will limit coverage relating to your entry.

Each judge is required to sign a legally-binding confidentiality agreement before appointment. PMGroup undertakes to adhere to the same confidentiality agreement.

A maximum of nine judges, with specific responsibility for the category entered, will see entries submitted in the Healthcare Communications Awards Categories.
A team of independent professionals review the entries in all other categories.

Please indicate on the entry form if you require your entry and supporting materials to be returned to you, or destroyed by PMGroup after the awards presentation.

How are the Communiqué Awards presented?

The Communiqué Awards culminate in a gala black-tie dinner and awards evening on Thursday 2 July 2020 at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane. Guests from a wide range of disciplines attend each year to recognise best practice and it has become a true highlight in the industry's calendar.

We had a fantastic night at the Communiqué Awards last year, with our #24YouHaveThePower campaign winning the award for “Excellence in Patient/Consumer Health Programmes” and “Excellence in Social Media Strategy”, as well as picking up Highly Commended in the “Innovation in Healthcare” award category. This campaign has authentic influencer communications at its heart, which if not a first then a one of very few campaigns of this nature by the pharma industry. I am very proud of the bravery and strategic thinking of the team and client which enabled us to engage with and change the behaviours of hard-to-reach audiences in such a relevant way.
