Virgo Health Education

Summary of work

On the 150th anniversary of the birth of Pierre de Coubertin, father of the modern Olympics, it seemed fitting that in 2013 Virgo Health Education set out to achieve a GOLDen performance. We identified 3 critical success factors (CSFs) which were expanding our global presence, maximising our client base and challenging the market with a new approach. It was clear that the latter of these CSFs would be crucial in driving the others. We therefore focused our efforts on delivering activities that moved away from the didactic approach traditionally used in medical education, instead focusing on two-way engagement with stakeholders, using creative, experiential learning techniques. The clients agreed with our philosophy ... we exceeded our target by 26%, with a year-on-year growth of 29%. This was achieved by winning 80% of pitches, including our first US domestic programme, while maintaining all of our existing clients. Key to this exceptional performance was our team – with the appointment of new members of staff to grow the team by 18%.

The success seen in 2013 is testimony to our unique offering, helping our clients redefine their perception of medical education and deliver a new Gold standard.
