Summary of work
In our sixth year, we found ourselves under new management and embarking upon a pioneering next phase. Concentrating on the core essentials, we ensured our processes were robust and our scientific quality second to none, while expanding our service offering to encompass innovative methods for better understanding and engaging healthcare professionals (HCPs).
Our excellence relied on a strong healthcare curiosity. With a heritage built on a medical learning approach to facilitate behaviour change, next it was time to focus on understanding what needs to change. We encouraged each team member to have a 360º experience of healthcare in action. We learnt from HCPs and patients and evolved the way we design our programmes to focus on what’s important to them, delivering the impactful behavioural change that we promised.
Testament to the success of this approach was that half of our new business income was from organic growth. We exceeded our financial target with a 9% growth rate, making up half of Virgo’s total revenue. We achieved growth by retaining 100% of clients and substantially growing the existing account base.
It was evolution not revolution, and it made a difference. We believe the results speak for themselves.

We loved the energy, honesty and authenticity of this Virgo team, together with their incredible hunger to win. Their originality in the services they offer, geared toward creative medical learning, was impressive, as was the pride and passion clearly invested in the work. We loved that the management team had a great start-up mentality; overcoming adversity, leading with conviction and fostering a real sense of team.
