The World vs. MS

by H4B UK for Sanofi Genzyme

Summary of work

Never in the history of multiple sclerosis (MS), has a pharmaceutical company been as dedicated to actively changing the future of life with MS, through such a sustained and ambitious social initiative: The World vs.MS.

Sanofi Genzyme didn’t just want to get to the heart of life with MS, but wanted to tackle it head-on, offering real, tangible solutions to the everyday challenges faced by those living with this disabling disease. This wasn’t about increasing drug sales, or discussing treatments; this was about addressing the real, unmet needs of the MS community.

However, to achieve this, we’d need to enlist the brain power of the world’s brightest thinkers, and connect the MS and innovation audiences through a single vision: to create meaningful and lasting change in patients’ lives. We leveraged the power of social media to collect and share MS challenges, creating a platform which didn’t just give the MS community a place where its voice counted, but where it was heard by millions. The World vs.MS has not only changed the way the world thinks about MS, but how it thinks about Sanofi Genzyme. No longer just a pharma company, but an active partner to patients.

Judges' comments

Sanofi Genzyme and H4B Manchester put together a brave and bold programme, demonstrating a great start for this long term campaign. It resonates that they are aiming to make a real difference. This was a campaign we  would all liked to have been involved in and look forward to seeing more in the future.
