Summary of work

Following an intense period of growth (>100% in five years), 2017 was a key year for CMC. Alongside the setting of strong revenue targets, four strategic imperatives were also identified:

  • Building our infrastructure
  • Establishing our learning and development programme
  • Investing in leadership and management
  • Delivering innovation and excellence for our clients.

Exceptional results were achieved across the company, delivering growth of 9%. Supported by 25 new starters, staff retention throughout 2017 was exceptional at 83%. This demonstrates the commitment and dedication of all our colleagues across the whole business. This commitment was further evidenced by the feedback scores received in our annual staff survey, in which 92% of colleagues recommended CMC as a great place to work. Colleague feedback also recognised CMC’s caring and nurturing culture – ‘a wonderful community of smart and kind people’.

A dedicated global learning and development team was established in 2017, its success demonstrated by the well-deserved promotions earned by 20% of our colleagues during the year. Four new global offices were established: Japan, Pennsylvania, Manchester and Glasgow, thereby providing a strengthened base on which to build in 2018.

2017 was an exceptional year for CMC, laying the foundations for yet more exciting growth!
