Summary of work

Tillotts Pharma UK recognised the lack of educational and professional development opportunities available for IBD Nurses, its key customer group. Tillotts wanted to develop a programme which would improve IBD Nurses’ skills and knowledge, enhance patient care, recognise and reward nurses, and widen and deepen their customer relationships. Tillotts engaged Jango Communications to create an innovative, multi-dimensional programme that would fulfil these diverse objectives, and have a long-lasting impact on patient care in IBD.

Jango convened a Steering Committee and developed the programme based on its insights. Jango’s solution was a dual-aspect meeting: The ‘LOGIC IBD NURSE EDUCATION & RECOGNITION EVENT’. Pre-meeting, delegates could enter their IBD projects for the coveted ‘Richard Driscoll Award for IBD Nurse Excellence’.

The annual event consists of an educational meeting, including a range of relevant talks and workshops; followed by the ‘recognition’ evening, where IBD Nurses’ projects are recognised, and prizes awarded.

The event was extremely successful: winners have reported services being redesigned following their award, cascading good practice across Trusts to improve patient care; professional development has significantly increased with nurses receiving recognition from within their Trusts, the media and professional publications. Importantly, Tillotts Pharma UK is now regarded as a dedicated partner in IBD.

This creative meeting addressed a clear unmet need. The team delivered a motivating and interesting way to engage the audience and had a huge amount of positive feedback showing increased awareness. We were really impressed with this entry.
