Brian Gunson is a strategic healthcare campaigner, with a commitment to the healthcare sector and pharmaceutical industry spanning 40 years.
Brian’s vision is to place patient and public involvement and industry partnership centre stage when developing strategic healthcare initiatives. He has been involved in originating, facilitating and implementing major initiatives that have resulted in behaviour change and impacted the quality of life for thousands. These include being at the forefront of public health, disease awareness and service provision campaigning.
The results speak for themselves, whether it is a reduction in smoking, the prioritising the management of depression, kidney and liver disease or enhancing access to life enhancing and innovatory therapies such as erythropoiesis-stimulating agents, anti-TNFs and cancer therapies.
In addition, he has run his own successful communications consultancy and, since the mid-90s, devoted time and talent to other organisations such as Project HOPE, the British Liver Trust, the NHS and patient engagement and public involvement organisations such as the Patients Association and HealthWatch. The kidney disease campaigning of the last 24 years illustrates one of his most significant achievements. Brian is driven by emotional intelligence that fosters behavioural change. This has impacted his peers, team members and stakeholders alike.
