ADHD is a highly emotive and widely misunderstood condition, not only within the lay population but also within many HCP communities across the globe. The majority of adults with ADHD have a co-morbid psychiatric disorder which can complicate diagnosis and treatment. To address this, our client asked us to develop an integrated disease-state educational mentorship programme to expand the knowledge of general adult psychiatrists who routinely manage patients with mood disorders that fail to resolve, or in those HCPs who may not acknowledge that ADHD impacts adults.
The ADHD In Adults Masterclass (AIM) Programme was designed to increase awareness within the HCP community and provide additional support to help them to be able to effectively diagnose and manage complex ADHD in adult patients.
The AIM programme is a multichannel approach to disease-state education – with 1:1 advisor/specialist meetings, a Peer 2 Peer programme and speaker consortium, and a live & on-demand webinar series.
Delivering an educational global programme in an innovative and engaging way with expert involvement and endorsement has provided access to valuable resources and a positive experience in engaging with HCPs.
The AIM Programme is a very interesting example of a multichannel peer to peer project. It has good traction with psychiatrists and demonstrated a valuable improvement in knowledge.
