Life Effects

Summary of work

Life Effects is a digital hub by patients for patients, demonstrating in a tangible way how Teva puts patients at the heart of what we do.

After speaking to 13,500+ patients globally about their information needs, we learned that while physicians and other healthcare professionals were patients’ go-to experts for diagnosing a condition and exploring treatment options, there wasn’t a central, cross-conditional resource that featured both an authentic patient voice and a professional, trusted experience. Our research also highlighted that while online search queries are quicker, easier and cheaper than a doctor visit, it’s harder for people to evaluate the quality and relevance of the information they find.

Life Effects was designed to bridge these gaps. Together with patients and partners, Life Effects tells authentic stories and offers practical tips to make living with a chronic condition a little easier. Content produced by patient contributors is reviewed by experts to address the unmet need for trustworthy health information online. Chronic conditions covered include attentiondeficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), respiratory, mental health, migraine and multiple sclerosis.

Life Effects launched in the US in May 2018 and Europe in October 2018, with additional market roll-outs planned in 2019 through 2020.

Judges’ comments

The Life Effects programme is germane with a solid, well intentioned approach. Although still in its early days, its content is both high quality and highly relevant, with impressive reach and feedback. The judges look forward to seeing this one develop.
