Esketamine Training Programme – Launch Preparation

Summary of work
OPEN Health partnered with the EMEA Janssen medical affairs team both pre- and post-launch to develop a comprehensive training programme for esketamine. The innovative programme prepared individuals to confidently discuss esketamine with physicians and peers, and it continues to provide on-demand training to reinforce knowledge and keep the teams engaged.
Innovation came from not only using a multichannel approach but also evolving content over the life cycle of the product and catering for different learning styles and levels of experience. Basic training slide decks provide consistency across the team in terms of therapy area and product knowledge; a core data deck containing key esketamine efficacy and safety data was established and continues to be updated to ensure access to the latest information; internal meetings, F2F and virtual, aligned the team and provided in-depth training; slide decks are produced as new training needs arise, accompanied by training calls to reinforce knowledge acquisition; interview-style podcasts discussing topics of interest strengthen understanding, and an e-learning platform consolidates content across the programme.
A flexible, adaptable approach and continual exploration of new ideas have been key to the high uptake of all elements of this training programme.
