Submissions related to a brand launch, development of an established brand or a brand portfolio. Entrants needed to demonstrate effective integration and implementation of marketing activities throughout the campaign.

Campaign overview - Hyalobarrier: Demonstrating excellence in the marketing of a medical device

Company: Nordic Pharma

Nordic Pharma's Women's Health portfolio was expanded at the end of 2008 in the UK, with the launch of Hyalobarrier, (a Class III CE marked device).

Available in two formulations, Hyalobarrier gel for use in laparotomies and Hyalobarrier Gel Endo for laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. The product is also indicated for the prevention and reduction of abdomino-pelvic adhesions, which may cause terrible, life altering symptoms for patients post surgery.

Educating stakeholders about the use of Hyalobarrier as part of good surgical practice to prevent adhesions, the most common complications of abdomino-pelvic surgery, was a new and exciting challenge for the Nordic team.
