Judging Criteria:

Excellence in creating market and customer insight

  • Demonstrate how you gained in-depth understanding of the value that might be created beyond the product

Clarity and appropriateness of objectives

  • Demonstrate how your objectives related to all stakeholders and reinforced each other

Quality of strategy development based on insights

  • Evidence of resource allocation decisions designed to create value
  • Evidence of choices not to allocate resources

Quality of execution

  • Evidence as to methods and tactics were based on the strategy
  • Evidence as to how methods and tactics reinforced each other
  • Evidence of organisational changes made to support strategy execution
  • Evidence of working with other stakeholders to support strategy execution

Quality of measurement and learning  

  • Demonstrate how metrics have been applied to measure outcomes
  • Evidence of knowledge gained that will inform and shape future decision-making

Evidence of value creation

  • Evidence of improved clinical outcomes
  • Evidence of improved health economic outcomes
  • Evidence of other improved outcomes.

This award recognises excellence in work, conducted by any organisation involved in any market, whose aim was to improve clinical outcomes and/or health economic value by methods other than a pharmaceutical therapy. These include, but are not restricted to:

  • The use of devices or diagnostics to make the use of a pharmaceutical therapy more clinically or economically effective, or both
  • Approaches to improving compliance or use of the product that lead to better clinical or health economic value, or both
  • Supporting healthcare systems in the delivery of services in a way that that leads to better clinical or health economic value, or both
  • The development and delivery of services delivered by the company in a way that that leads to better clinical or health economic value, or both

Entries are invited from any individual, team, service or organisation that has improved clinical outcomes and/or health economic value by methods other than a pharmaceutical therapy . Judges will be looking for evidence of impact, sustainability and innovation.

Potential entrants might include:

  • UK, European or international pharmaceutical, biotech, ethical, life science, OTC and medical   device/diagnostic companies who are working in emerging or global markets
  • Healthcare agencies and consultancies.

Work conducted up to and including December 2016 will be eligible.
