J&J seeks European digital health entrepreneurs

Digital health mentor programme will culminate in €50,000 challenge

Digital_Intelligence_blog_pharma_thumbJohnson & Johnson (J&J) is on the look out for European digital health entrepreneurs to sign up to a new mentoring programme.

It says the Digital Health Masterclass will offer a “springboard for the digital health influencers of tomorrow” and, ultimately, the chance to compete before a panel of experts and investors for a share in a €50,000 prize fund.

Marco Mohwinckel, head of Janssen Healthcare Innovation Europe, said: “Johnson & Johnson is committed to leading change through innovation and we know all too well about the importance of collaboration.

“It's for this reason we are pooling our expertise in healthcare and innovation to launch our first Digital Health Masterclass in Europe and offer much-needed support to these rising stars.”

The two-month programme kicks off in September with three separate three-day learning sessions to be held in Berlin, Barcelona and London.

These will provide access to a panel of international influencers and investors who will lead educational workshops and offer targeted mentoring and advice.

The networking sessions will then be followed by the €50,000 Masterclass Challenge, which will be held in association with Health 2.0 in London on November 20, 2013.

The programme is led by J&J executives across the group, including the company's entrepreneurial team Janssen Healthcare Innovation.

J&J said the aim of the programme was to “foster growth and innovation in digital health across Europe”, and it follows last year's Connected Health Challenge from Janssen Healthcare Innovation.

Open to up to 20 European digital health businesses, applications for J&J's Digital Health Masterclass programme can be made online before Friday August 9, 2013.
