Global cancer conference inspires M3’s largest highlights programme

ASCO initiative spans 16 European countries and five specialties

Online Physician CommunitiesConferences are extremely important to help doctors keep abreast of the latest news and developments in key disease and therapy areas. However, many doctors struggle to find the time and funding to attend them all.

The internet provides an excellent channel through which doctors can catch up with conferences either in real time or post-event, and we are finding that more and more doctors are relying on digital sources to keep up to date.

In response to this trend, M3 is running its largest ever digital conference highlights programme this year. The programme, which is being run in relation to the ASCO conference, spans 16 European countries and five specialties.

It helps doctors keep abreast of key events and data presented at the event in June, and continues to alert them to specific post-event video interviews and articles for the rest of the year.

Major key opinion leader interviews were arranged prior to the event, and writing, production and video editing took place while it was in progress by a team of medical journalists, editors and film crew.

A total of 25 video interviews and 22 written articles were created during this time by M3 and they have been disseminated to oncologists, dermatologists, gastroenterologists, urologists and respiratory physicians across Europe.

The resources, which include an interactive video player that allows easy navigation to specific questions within individual interviews, have been optimised for use on mobile devices, allowing time pressed doctors to access them on the go.

They are being made available via two M3 services - Doctors.net.uk, the UK's largest and most active online network of doctors, and MDLinx, an award-winning website that provides news and information to doctors and healthcare professionals across the world. Sponsorship has been provided by Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cancer Research UK and Alere Ltd.

M3 will continue to promote specific post-event content over the coming months to ensure that it benefits as many doctors as possible.
