Can I copy and paste job descriptions from Word?

Yes you can - but you have to be very careful to remove any coding before pasting it into the text editor. Word will, by default, attach a large amount of coding to anything that is copied and pasted from a standard document. This is great if you are copying and pasting from one Word document to another as it will retain tables, stylesheets, colours etc. In order for most websites to display text correctly (using the sites own styles) this extra coding has to be removed somehow.

There are three things to remember when copying and pasting from Word:

  1. Remove as much Word coding as possible:
Copy and paste the Word document into a simple text editor (eg, Notepad) BEFORE pasting it into your job advert on PMLiVE.
    OR
Paste the text as normal into your job advert on PMLiVE and use the 'replace text' tool. Find out more about the replace text tool.
  2. Make sure you ONLY copy the text you wish to use.
Do not select tables, images, logos, etc.
  3. If your preview is not showing the right styles, try running it through the simple text editor again. If you are still having problems, please give us a call on 01306 740 777.
