Advertising Cost Equivalent (ACE) is the measure of difference in cost between paying for advertising space and placing an equivalent editorial piece. ACE is an industry measure for giving PR a monetary value. Unpaid-for editorial is seen as of higher value than paid-for advertising as it is perceived by readers to be endorsed by the publication in which it appears. The PR industry puts the ACE PR value at 2.5 times more than that of advertising.
