A process to summarise results from multiple sets of data from different scientific studies. In statistics, a meta-analysis combines the results of multiple studies that explore a set of hypotheses. In its basic form, this is generally by identification of a mean measure of effect size, for which a weighted average might be the output of a meta-analyses.
