A framework for viewing the macro environment involving the elements: political, economic, environmental, socio-cultural and technological. Similar to an environmental scanning process, a PEEST analysis procures factual and subjective data on the business environments which a company proposes operating. Using the PEEST framework a business strives to be better aware of what is occurring in the general background recognising the background has consequences in their business strategy.
