APCO Worldwide appoints chair of UK health practice

James Tyrrell joins London branch of global comms group

APCO Worldwide James TyrrellGlobal communications agency APCO Worldwide has appointed James Tyrrell as director and chair of its UK health practice.

Tyrell joins the London office from Insight Consulting Group, where he mostly recently served as deputy managing director having co-founded the firm in 2006.

James Ascheson-Gray, managing director of APCO's London branch, said: “We're delighted to welcome James to APCO.

“His nearly 15 years of experience as a leading healthcare consultant, and proven track record of effecting policy change in the industry, will be of great value to our clients as they face an increasingly complex and regulated environment.”

Prior to founding ICG, Tyrell served as vice chairman at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). He also brings experience from his time as public affairs manager and director of the London retail consortium for British Retail Consortium, and account manager at Westminster Strategy.

Tyrrell said: “Healthcare policy around the globe is evolving at a dramatic pace. Organisations wanting to be at the forefront of this evolution need the very best advice.
