Arvato turns to Google for head of digital marketing

Jens Monsees was most recently at search engine giant

Arvato has appointed Jens Monsees head of solution group digital marketing.

The appointment takes effect on October 1, 2014. Monsees will report directly to the business process outsourcing firm's CEO Achim Berg.

Monsees joins from Google, where he was most recently responsible for the automotive, consumer goods and healthcare divisions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"With Jens Monsees, a proven expert will be taking over the helm at the Solution Group Digital Marketing,” said Berg.

“For many years now, he has been focusing on the digital transformation of previously analog business processes and is distinguished by extensive expertise in all matters digital, longstanding management experience and outstanding innovativeness."

Monsees has more than two decades' experience in brand management and marketing, beginning with Kraft Jacobs Suchard in 1993. He worked for Henkel and the BMW Group before joining Google Deutschland in 2008.

“I'm greatly looking forward to my new duties at arvato. In my opinion, the fast-advancing pace of digitization means there is a lot of interesting potential here," Monsees said.
