Astellas strengthens US and Canadian leadership team

Steve Sabus, Lynn Gerber and Kevin O’Keefe are promoted to new roles

Steve SabusAstellas has promoted Steve Sabus (pictured right) to general manager of Astellas Pharma Canada, effective from 1 April this year.

His new role will see him lead business operations in the country and he will report to Percival Barretto-Ko, Astellas’ senior vice president of international operations.

Barretto-Ko, said: “I have great confidence in Steve’s ability to continue the growth Astellas Canada, an important market in the Americas.

“His continued leadership and extensive experience in sales and marketing will help ensure that our ongoing commitment to therapies in oncology, urology, immunology and other areas will focus on Canadian patients’ needs.”

Sabus joined Astellas in 2007 and has over 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

He most recently served as vice president, primary care at Astellas US and prior to this, he served in various capacities for Johnson & Johnson.

Lynn GerberAs Sabus leaves from the US, Astellas has promoted Lynn Fenicchia Gerber (pictured left) to US vice president, primary care, where she will lead sales efforts for the OAB, anti-fungal, cardiovascular and transplant franchises.

Gerber joined Astellas from GSK and she has more than 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Kevin O’Keefe (pictured below) has also been promoted to US area vice president, sales, primary care and speciality for the West, where he will be responsible for overseeing sales efforts and developing talent within the sales force.

Kevin O'KeefeO’Keefe has 27 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with 20 years in sales leadership.

Prior to joining Astellas, O’Keefe worked with Bayer and Oscient in roles of increasing responsibility.
