Chief operating officer Jonathan Hunt will take over on an interim basis

The managing director of AstraZeneca’s Indian subsidiary Anandh Balasundaram has resigned and will leave the company at the end of this week.

He has held the role since 2007, having previously spent two years as vice president of sales and marketing at Bangalore-based AstraZeneca Pharma India.

Balasundaram will be replaced on an interim basis by chief operating officer Jonathan Hunt, who will initially hold the role for four months, according to a filing made last week to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
