Hansa Medical strengthens management team

Henk Doude van Troostwijk becomes vice president, commercial operations

Swedish biopharmaceutical company Hansa Medical has appointed Henk Doude van Toostwijk as its new vice president, commercial operations.

In his new role, van Troostwijk will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s commercial assessments of its lead project IdeS, an orphan drug in development for organ rejection.

Goran Arvidson, president and chief executive of Hansa Medical, said: “We are very excited that Henk will engage in Hansa Medical, as we now start to prepare our commercialisation strategy for IdeS.”

Van Troostwijk brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in transplantation and orphan drugs, most recently as general manager of emerging markets at Raptor Pharmaceuticals.

He has also held a number of management positions at Bioenvisions, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merck as well as serving as business unit director oncology and transplantation for Genzyme.
