Healthcare communications veteran David Bashaw has joined New York-based PR agency HealthStar PR as executive VP.

Bashaw joins the firm – a division of HealthStar Communications – from Bashaw Consulting where he was principal.

In his new role he will be responsible for managing the agency and its relationship with clients. He will work with the president and co-founder of HealthStar PR Erinn White.

Bashaw has nearly 20 years' experience in healthcare communications working for such agencies as MSLGROUP, Ogilvy Public Relations and Edelman.

During this time he has led campaigns for major companies, including Eli Lilly, Novartis and Myriad Genetics.

“I'm looking forward to contributing to the culture of strategic and creative communications that HealthStar PR is known for,” said Bashaw.

“As a smaller agency, we believe we can continue to use our nimbleness and innovative thinking to excel, offering our clients a true strategic partner in delivering programmes that will not only grow brands, but help bolster the client's reputation and positioning.”
