James D'Arecca has moved from eyecare firm Bausch & Lomb to join generic company Actavis as its new chief accounting officer.
He served in a similar role at Bausch & Lomb and in his new position will report to Actavis' chief financial officer R Todd Joyce.
Prior to Bausch & Lomb, he worked for Merck & Co, where he served as executive director and business development controller.
In this role, he was the primary liaison between the controller's organisation and the business development and corporate licensing functions.
Prior to joining Merck, D'Arecca was executive director and assistant controller at Schering-Plough, which Merck acquired in 2009.
His career to date has also included 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where his industry focus was on pharmaceuticals, medical devices and consumer products.
