UK specialty pharma company Atlantic Healthcare has named Salix founder Lorin Johnson to its board of directors.
The move follows the $15.8bn sales of Salix to Valeant and Johnson’s subsequent investment in gastrointestinal specialist Atlantic.
Together with co-founder Randy Hamilton, Johnson took Salix from a ‘bedroom start-up’ in 1989 to a firm with 22 marketed products and revenues of $1.1bn.
Johnson said: “Atlantic Healthcare offers a great opportunity to get back to where Salix started.”
