The Spanish Society of Pharmacology (SEF) has named Maria Jesús Sanz as its new president.
Jesús Sanz, a professor of pharmacology at the University of Valencia, was elected to the role at the Society's annual meeting in Madrid. He replaces Teresa Tejerina.
Jesús Sanz has over 25 years' experience as a teacher and researcher and has studied in the UK and Canada. His research focuses on the study of inflammatory processes, mediators, leukocyte-endothelium interactions and leukocyte infiltration in various pathologies.
In his new role Jesús Sanz will lead the SEF in its mission to become a forum for people in Spain who are interested in pharmacology and medicine. He will also promote international relations for Spanish researchers and work to improve the Society's relationship with the pharma industry.
