Novartis appoints new UK managing director

Haseeb Ahmad joins the firm from MSD

Haseeb AhmadNovartis has appointed Haseeb Ahmad as its managing director and country president for the UK and Ireland.

Previously a managing director for Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD), Ahmad brings almost 20 years of experience in the industry with more than 13 years based in the UK.

He said: “I am immensely proud to join the Novartis UK team. As a market, the UK is very important. It is at the forefront of healthcare reform and through partnership with the NHS, Novartis can deliver important medicines and innovative solutions for patients.

Alongside his role, Ahmad will also be a member of the Swiss pharma firm's European Executive Committee (EEC).

Marie-France Tschudin, head of Novartis’ Europe division, said: “I am delighted that Haseeb has joined Novartis to lead our UK pharmaceuticals business as managing director and as the country president for the UK.
