RSA appoints John Callagher as CEO

He takes over from Nick Stephens who becomes executive chairman

UK-based recruitment company RSA has appointed John Callagher as part of a broader reshuffle of its senior team.

This will see Nick Stephens take on the role as executive chairman, after seven years as CEO of the Hatfield firm, and the appointment of Sarah Wilding as a non-executive director.

New CEO John Callagher has over 19 years of executive search experience and originally joined RSA as managing director of RSA Switzerland, before quickly progressing to head of EMEA.

“I would like to congratulate John on his new appointment,” said Nick Stephens. “Now is the time for continued growth at RSA and as I embark on my new role, I believe John is well positioned to succeed as CEO.”

The changes follow the retirement of RSA’s chairman and founder Roger Stephens and his wife, and board director, Edna Stephens.

“The business I founded in 1981 has grown from a family boutique to be a world leader in its field and we’ve built a remarkable team inside the company as well as a loyal network of candidates and clients across the globe,” Roger Stephens said.

“The time has come to prepare for the next step in our evolution and that means preserving the special culture and feel of RSA whilst making ourselves even more professional as an interim and search business.”

The company, which specialises in life sciences executive search and interim management, now has offices in China, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, Turkey and the US.
