FleishmanHillard has appointed Jerry Tolk to its Atlanta office as senior vice president, partner and general manager.

Tolk joins FleishmanHillard from Edelman, where he led the Atlanta operation, heading up a growing eight-state healthcare practice. He replaces Karen Kaplan, who has retired after 15 years with FleishmanHillard.

"We're excited to have Jerry joining our talented senior team in Atlanta as general manager," said Jack Modzelewski, FleishmanHillard president of the Americas.

"He has proven management and talent recruitment experience, high-level client relationships, and a business vision that will bring greater opportunities for us in Atlanta.”

Tolk joined Edelman in 2007, initially with its Zeno Group subsidiary, moving to the Atlanta office in 2008. With a degree in biology from the US Army College of Medicine, he has also carried out strategic consulting and communications for M&A clients.

"Jerry will be joining an award-winning office of senior strategists and communications professionals skilled at helping clients develop marketplace opportunities and navigate threats," said Modzelewski.

"With marquee clients across corporate, healthcare, technology and consumer sectors, Atlanta is key to our regional strategy of providing world-class marketing and reputation management in the south-eastern US."
