Virgo Health names US head

Nancy Caravetta to lead the UK comms agency's new PR practice in New York

Virgo Nancy CaravettaVirgo Health has expanded its global presence with the launch of a public relations practice in New York City in the US.

The practice will be led by Nancy Caravetta (pictured), an experienced healthcare communications executive with experience at Lippe Taylor, Chaidan Healthcare Communications and Rx Brand Communications & Entertainment Marketing.

The new office follows the launch last year of Virgo Health's US medical education division in New York.

According to the agency, the moves reflect “Virgo Health's ongoing commitment to global healthcare communications and the need to better serve, and strengthen, its client base in the US”.

This includes the diabetes alliance between Boehringer Ingelhiem and Lilly, as well as Merck's respiratory portfolio.

“We wanted to extend the Virgo offer globally for some time and New York was the logical and exciting next step,” said Sarah Matthew, joint CEO and co-founder of Virgo Health, which has its base in London, UK.

Caravetta, who heads the new US public relations practice, added: “Many of Virgo's multinational pharmaceutical clients are based in the US. They come to Virgo because of the agency's global communications expertise but often wish they could find an agency closer to home.  Virgo decided it was time to open an office to better serve these US clients.”
