The next Quality in Care (QiC) webinars will focus on the diabetes programme with a two-part look at new ideas to improve patient care.
Part Two will be broadcast on Thursday 6 February at 1pm (UK time) and will feature case studies in diabetic foot care, standardising practice for intravenous insulin and preconception planning from the following speakers:
Dr Nida Chammas, Consultant Diabetologist and also clinical lead DIAFOOT Project at the National Institute for Health Research CLAHRC for North West London
Paru King, consultant diabetologist and member of the NHS diabetes pregnancy network steering group
Ruth Miller, clinical lead nurse for diabetes at the Royal Free Hospital
Valerie Holmes, Senior Lecturer with the Centre for Public Health, Queen’s University Belfast.
The 60 minute webinar is free to view and will feature previous QiC Diabetes finalists sharing good practice and demonstrating the benefits and adaptability of their initiatives.

QiC Diabetes aims to help identify innovations and innovators, to recognise their achievements and to disseminate their good practice more widely across the NHS, charities and industry for the ultimate benefit of the patient.
Dr Nida Chammas Consultant Diabetologist, NIHR CLAHRC, West London. She has an interest in the diabetic foot and has written publications in this field.
Paru King has been a Consultant Diabetologist in Derby since 2000. She is the physician lead for the diabetes and obstetrics service and led and project managed PROCEED. Paru is also a Director of InterCare Limited, a successful NHS integrated organisation for diabetes, and have been involved in national projects in the area of diabetes and pregnancy as well as being a member of the NHS Diabetes Pregnancy network steering group.
Ruth Miller - Lead Nurse for Diabetes, Royal Free Hospital
Dr Valerie Holmes is a Senior Lecturer with the Centre for Public Health, Queen’s University Belfast. Valerie’s major research interests focus on improving maternal and neonatal outcomes for women with diabetes.
