UK payers perspectives: the market access value paradox

Biopharma's success in the new healthcare economy is focused on a clear guiding principle: prove the value of the product to all stakeholders, or risk commercial failure. In the UK, the number of budget holders has vastly increased, with NICE, NHS England and the proliferation of clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) all now demanding drugs that deliver exceptional value.

Clearly, biopharma needs to understand the local value story of each payer, then demonstrate how their product aligns with it. The only problem is, payers and biopharma rarely agree on what value means, and rarely spend time discussing it …

… Until now.

On 24 September at 2pm (GMT) PMLiVE, in association with Quintiles, is hosting a free webinar dedicated to unraveling the definitions of value through frank and insightful debate. 

'UK payer perspectives: the market access value paradox' will feature Ryan Wooller, director of market access and service innovation at Quintiles and Dr Junaid Bajwa, a GP and board member for Greenwich CCG.

The webinar will examine exactly why there is a misalignment between biopharma and payers, how it is harming the commercial and clinical success of products, and what needs to be done to bring them closer together.

Dr Junaid Bajwa
Dr Junaid Bajwa is a GP, Board member for Greenwich CCG, and Council Member for the London Clinical Senate. He has an interest in education, and clinical leadership, and since June 2014, he has been seconded to the NHS Leadership Academy as part of their Fast Track Executive Programme.
Ryan Wooller
Ryan is Director of Market Access and Service Innovation with responsibility for a number of Quintiles market access teams in the UK. In his role Ryan is responsible for working closely with BioPharma customers to support the development and execution of their market access strategies.

Previous to working at Quintiles, Ryan was the Commercial Operations Director at Visions4health, a dedicate market access agency where he supported the commercialisation of 5 different brands over a two year period.

Ryan has over 12 years experience in the commercial sectors with both private providers and pharmaceutical sector in sales, key account management, consultancy and business and organisational development roles.
