AstraZeneca appoints leaders for its Americas business

Makes Rich Fante regional VP, Americas and Marion McCourt chief operating officer of its US business

AstraZeneca had made two leadership appointments to its business in the Americas.

Rich Fante has been appointed regional vice president, Americas, and Marion McCourt takes on the role of chief operating officer for the company's US business.

“Rich is a strong leader who will enable our company to successfully navigate the challenges facing our industry while delivering innovation and value to our customers, patients and shareholders,” said Tony Zook, executive vice president, global commercial operations.

Fante was already responsible for leading AstraZeneca's commercial operations in North America and he will retain his existing responsibilities as president of the company's US business.

Meanwhile, McCourt – currently president and chief executive at AstraZeneca Canada – will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the US business and heading the US Leadership Team.

“Marion's leadership, vision and extensive experience will help AstraZeneca and the patients we serve well at a critical time for our business in the United States,” Fante said.
