BMI Healthcare hires to raise awareness of services

Online physician community will highlight BMI Healthcare services where treatments are unavailable on the NHS

BMI Healthcare has appointed online physician community to help highlight its services to GPs, while also raising awareness of the potential options available to patients if treatment is unavailable on the NHS.

The 12-month online campaign will include a microsite for the private health company that features various resources, including news items on private healthcare, polls and case studies.

“We are delighted to be appointed by BMI Healthcare,” said Simon Grime, managing director of communications for “Our campaign, which is specifically focused on positioning the company as the UK's most comprehensive provider of private healthcare services, will be a valuable resource for GPs, as NHS budgets are cut and private care referrals are expected to become increasingly common.”

BMI Healthcare is the largest independent provider of private health care in the UK, with over 70 hospitals and healthcare facilities, and forms the acute private hospital division of General Healthcare Group.

The campaign will aim to inform GPs about the services BMI Healthcare offers to patients and highlight alternatives to NHS services. The healthcare provider manages treatment in a number of speciality areas, including cancer, cardiology, otolaryngology, neurology and urology.

Nigel Moon, head of marketing services, BMI Healthcare, said: "The current changes to the NHS mean GPs need critical information about the alternatives available to their patients should they need or want to have treatment in the private sector. We believe that offers the perfect channel through which to provide help, information and support to GPs in this area."
