BMS' Anthony Hooper joins Amgen

Amgen has appointed Anthony (Tony) Hooper as executive vice president, global commercial operations

Amgen has appointed Anthony (Tony) Hooper as executive vice president, global commercial operations.

Hooper joins after 16 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) where he was most recently senior vice president, commercial operations and president, US, Japan and intercontinental.

His broad commercial operations experience includes running BMS' commercial business in North America, Asia, Middle East, Africa, South America and Europe.

President and chief operating officer Robert A Bradway said: "As we continue to grow, Tony's track record of delivering results and his passion for serving patients across the globe make him an outstanding addition to Amgen's leadership team."

Hooper will report to Bradway who has just been to the board of directors.

Bradway joined Amgen in 2006 as vice president, operations strategy and served as executive vice president and chief financial officer from April 2007 to May 2010.

Prior to joining Amgen, he was a managing director at Morgan Stanley in London and previously worked at Morgan Stanley in healthcare roles.
