Boehringer rebrands contract manufacturing business as BioXcellence

Hopes giving the biopharma operation its own brand will help customers

Boehringer has given its 35-year old contract manufacturing business its own brand in a move the pharma company says will help customers and the market.

The company said its new Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence brand would unify “the experience, dedication and commitment of this biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing business towards customers and their projects”.

Simon Sturge, senior VP of biopharmaceutcials at Boehringer Ingelheim, said: “Our new brand Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence will help our customers and the market identify with the quality and reliability which has made Boehringer Ingelheim's biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing business one of the largest in the world.

As a contract manufacturing and development company Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence will offer an entire product technology chain from DNA to fill and finish within its facilities in Biberach (Germany), Vienna (Austria) and Fremont (US).
