Schmittgall were successful at the GWA’s HealthCare Awards

Leading healthcare advertising agencies working in Germany were recognised at the HealthCare Awards 2014 run by the country’s General Association of Communication Agencies (GWA).

Among the winners was Schmittgall, which picked up two awards, including the disease awareness prize for its TheraKey project for Berlin Chemie, a subsidiary of Italy’s Menarini.

TheraKey is a web tool to support communications between patients and doctors and improve adherence. It serves as a USB key to allow patients to access secure websites that contain information about their illness.

Schmittgall also won the GWA Healthcare Junior Award for its team that worked on a campaign for ‘nomophobia’ – the fear of being out of mobile phone contact.

Other winners at the awards, which recognise creative, strategically-designed and sustainable healthcare communications, included Pink Carrots Communications. The agency won in the category for prescription medicines for its campaign for muscle relaxant Ortoton, which is produced by Recordati.

In the OTC and non-prescription drug category Engelhard Arzneimittel and Gams & Schrage Healthcare picked up the prize for their work on cough syrup Prospan

A campaign for the German Red Cross won the social commitment category, The campaign was developed by Jung von Matt and Mhoch4.

The final ‘special’ category was won by cyperfection and Sudler & Hennessey for their campaign for Roche Diagnostics’ blood glucose monitor Accu-Chek.
