Communiqué names Caroline Cerny its Emerging Leader for 2017

The Obesity Health Alliance's alliance lead won praise for her leadership style

Caroline Cerny

The Publicis Resolute Award for Emerging Leader in Healthcare Communications was presented to The Obesity Health Alliance’s Caroline Cerny at the 2017 Communiqué awards ceremony in London last week.

The Communiqué judges noted that she was ‘impressive’ in a ‘difficult’ role, one that sees her lead an alliance of over 40 health charities, medical royal colleges and campaign groups.

They added: “Caroline recognises she is an introvert but, crucially, she knows how to successfully incorporate this into her leadership style. Very self-aware and led by relationships, she works out what will be right and then brings people with her, leading through influence rather than by position.

“She really has the ‘likeability’ factor that allows her to deliver projects beautifully.”

Prior to her current role Cerny previously worked as policy communications manager at the Department of Health and senior health campaigns manager at Cancer Research UK, as well as at agencies such as Ruder Finn.

Run by PMLiVE’s publisher the PMGroup, the Communiqué Awards are specifically designed to recognise and commend excellence and best practice in local, European and international healthcare communications.
