DIA appoints Kaushik Desai to head up Indian operations

The Drug Information Association (DIA) has appointed Kaushik Desai as director of DIA India

The Drug Information Association (DIA) has appointed Kaushik Desai as director of DIA India.

Kaushik has a deep knowledge of the global regulatory framework and the pharmaceutical environment in India as well as a passion for the vision and mission of the Association.

“We are delighted to have someone of Mr Desai's stature and experience to provide leadership to DIA India,” said Paul Pomerantz, DIA Worldwide executive director. “He will work closely with the Advisory Council of India to help address the many opportunities in this country.”

Desai is a trained pharmacist with more than 25 years of experience. He worked as CEO and director of Global Pharmatech in Bangalore and is currently vice president of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and chairman of the industrial pharmacy division.

He holds a master's degree in Pharmacy from Mumbai University and a diploma in industrial management from the Dahanukar Institute of Management.
