Lilly Diabetes and Disney’s series of books for families with children who have type 1 diabetes are now available in digital format.
The books, available at www.T1EverydayMagic.com, deal with real-life challenges facing children with the condition, such as sports activities, birthday parties and other social events.
The new resources combine Lilly Diabetes’ expertise in the disease with Disney’s knowledge of what engages children. Previously available only through paediatric endocrinology offices, the digital books have been designed for optimised viewing on either a desktop or tablet.
Among the books aimed at younger children is Coco and Goofy’s Goofy Day, featuring a young monkey with type 1 diabetes.
Older children have been catered for by books such as ESPN: Power Forward, which follows a tween boy from diagnosis to the re-establishment of a normal routine. The junior novels range also features popular Disney character Hannah Montana.
In addition to the digital books, the website, developed by Disney and Lilly Diabetes, provides diabetes-friendly recipes, taken from the Dishing it up Disney-style cookery book.

Families are encouraged to check the site regularly, as additional digital books will be made available online in the coming months. Along with the books, the website also offers information on Lilly Diabetes’ programmes for families and children with type 1 diabetes.
