Healthcarecomms agency launches specialist PR unit

dna healthcare communicationsHealthcare communications agency dna has boosted its UK offering with the launch of a new specialist PR unit.

The division will be led by Heather Grant, with Neil Flash remaining as managing director of dna.

The agency said its addition of a dedicated PR unit means its medical communications practice would now be in a position to offer its clients fully integrated healthcare communications.

The new division broadens dna's services to include scientific product, disease area, internal and corporate communications; reputation and issues management; stakeholder and advocacy group relations and market access across the range of channels.

Neil Flash: “We are absolutely thrilled to be expanding our proposition in London, and welcoming Heather to the team.

“The addition of public relations allows us to offer strategic healthcare communications services that perfectly solve our client partners' communications challenges - whatever they may be. 

“Heather's depth of experience and proven track record across the spectrum of healthcare communications, together with her strategic and business insight, will be of huge value to the team and our clients moving forwards.”

Flash told PMLiVE that dna would continue to grow both the medical communications and PR sides of its business 'in 2016 and beyond'.

Heather Grant joined dna in May, bringing more than 18 years' experience in public relations. Before joining dna, she spent more than six years with Chandler Chicco Companies (part of inventive Health). In her new role she will report to Neil Flash.

The agency also appointed account executive Celine Ivari and senior account manager Kelly Smith in April and May, respectively, to help support the new business area and the broader team.

Part of the Interpublic Group, dna has offices in New York, London, Cologne, Milan, Sao Paulo and Shanghai.
