Draftfcb Healthcare wins Most Creative Agency at the 2013 Mannys

US ceremony also rewards H4B Chelsea with an Agency of the Year award

Manny Awards 2013Draftfcb Healthcare has taken home the Most Creative Agency prize at the Manny Awards in New York for the fourth consecutive year.

The agency won three out of the four categories in which it was nominated at the the 24th annual Med Ad News Manny Awards, which celebrate excellence in healthcare advertising, and were held at Pier Sixty, New York on April 26.

Draftfcb Healthcare's pro bono Escape the Stall work for the US Crohn's & Colitis Foundation which features NYPD Blue actress Amy Brenneman, was named Best Philanthropic Campaign.

Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America president, Richard Geswell said: "The creative was very well received in our focus groups. However, winning this award reinforces that we are in fact starting a dialogue. The goal of this campaign is to bring these devastating diseases that affect so many people to the forefront. We are incredibly grateful to Draftfcb for their outstanding work."

"Talking about IBD is not easy. It's a difficult subject, rife with embarrassment and secrecy," said Mike Devlin, creative director at Draftfcb Healthcare. "Our goal with this campaign is to humanise these diseases and make them easier to discuss."

The creative elements of the campaign include a 30-second TV spot, print and outdoor advertisements (airport and billboards), bathroom stickers and online banner ads. Following its January launch, in the first three months the campaign generated 60m impressions and media value of over $3m.

The agency also won Best Non-branded Campaign category with Get Your Shift Together aimed at pharma company Teva's shift workers.

Meanwhile, Health4Brands' H4B Chelsea won the Category 1 Agency of the Year and CDM New York won Best Professional Campaign for its promotional work for the Scream campaign for Pfizer's MRSA therapy Zyvox.

There were also plaudits for GSW's work for Stryker's GetAroundKnee System, which won three Manny Awards: Best Consumer Campaign, Best Interactive Patient Campaign and Best Medical Device Campaign.
