FCB Health expands into Germany

Joerg Hempelmann announces the launch of FCB Health Frankfurt

It’s been six months since FCB Health Europe named its first-ever president Joerg Hempelmann, and since then the former McCann Health Germany chief has expanded the network’s global footprint into Germany.

Opening an office in Frankfurt, Germany is hardly a surprising move under the leadership of Hempelmann, who knows the area well following a stint serving in various agency-based roles there.

Since his promotion, Hempelmann, who was hired to direct all European operations, has introduced a new strategy known as the 'ambassadorship model'.

This was one of his main tasks upon taking up the position, along with finding ways to better serve global clients, allowing for an expansion in talent recruitment.

“Where traditional agencies require talent to be based in a single location, we are changing the way we operate by having people on the ground close to the clients’ headquarters,” explains Hempelmann.

He adds: “We are in an age of significant technological advancement that allows us to communicate in many ways and provides our clients with people close-by for a personal interaction, but with real-time access to our hyper-connected and world-wide community of seasoned health experts.”

Latest recruits Jamie MacCarthy-Morrogh and David Prater, who both join as executive creative directors, will oversee the new model from the FCB Health London office.

“Our ambition has always been to produce impactful, challenging, hard-working creative, so joining FCB Health Europe felt like a perfect match. FCB Health Network continues to raise the bar for healthcare creative, and we can’t wait to bring that ethos and ambition to our clients across Europe.”

Most recently, the network’s UK-based agencies have undergone some rebranding.

ICC will be known as FCB Health London, and FCB Halesway will be named FCB Health Hampshire.

The communications giant is also re-focusing in the US following the launch of Area 23 on Hudson, a realigned offering that combines Hudson Global and Area 23.
