GSK and Teva win at UK pharmacy awards

GSK Pharmaceuticals gains Ethical Manufacturer of the Year award and Teva UK takes Generics Manufacturer of the Year

GSK Pharmaceuticals gains Ethical Manufacturer of the Year award and Teva UK takes Generics Manufacturer of the Year.

Over 450 representatives from UK pharmacy and healthcare celebrated excellence and innovation in their field at the annual Alliance Healthcare Pharmacy Awards ceremony, held in London at the end of November. The awards, now in their 12th year, recognise the achievements of pharmacists and manufacturers from across the supply chain in 12 categories.

Independent pharmacists voted in the manufacturer awards, making GSK Pharmaceuticals the winner of the Ethical Manufacturer of the Year award.

GSK Pharmaceuticals received positive results across all judging criteria, including product availability, training, innovation, and both patient and pharmacy services. GSK was also viewed as having a strong commitment to community pharmacy.

Generics Manufacturer of the Year was awarded to Teva UK. Independent pharmacists highlighted the excellent quality of Teva's communication and sales team and the fact that it was one of the best manufacturers for providing support to pharmacists.

Teva also gained consistently high feedback on its product innovation and pharmacy services, and for the excellent Medicines Use Review (MUR) resources and support package it provided for pharmacists.
