Former GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) healthcare marketing director Tim Brooks has joined London-based communications agency Creative Leap as a non-executive director.

The appointment will be a ‘hands on’ role, with Brooks taking responsibility for strategy development, while also supporting specific client relationships and projects.

Over the course of 11 years with GSK, he managed a marketing department of more than 30 people that covered brand marketing, innovation, research and expert marketing across a portfolio of brands.

“We have known Tim for a long time and we feel that his commercial input and extensive marketing and healthcare experience will help to take the business forward particularly within our health and wellbeing practice areas,” said David Gray, CEO, Creative Leap.

“This is one of a number of steps we are undertaking to enhance our ability to add value to our clients.”

Creative Leap’s involvement in the healthcare sector has included working with GSK, Alliance Boots, Bupa, Johnson & Johnson, Merz Aesthetics and also with Reckitt Benckiser.

Commenting on his appointment, Brooks said: “I have known Creative Leap since its birth – they do some fabulous work – and I look forward to contributing to their future success.

“Clients face huge challenges as they seek sustainable growth and differentiation and we all share a view about how to put this – rather than typical agency rhetoric – at the heart of our approach.”
