Havas simplifies media operations

New structure part of its continued drive to put digital and content expertise at core

Havas Media logoHavas has reorganised its media business, creating a new group to more effectively align it with its digital interests.

The new Havas Media Group, which will officially open its doors on January 24, is comprised of all Havas' media agencies from across 126 territories, including its media and digital brands, MPG and Media Contacts respectively.

It will be led by Havas Media CEO Alfonso Rhodes, who becomes CEO at Havas Media Group.

He said: “The explosion of digital media means that no-one can afford to deliver a siloed approach to communications. By reorganising our teams, changing the lines of reporting and investing in building company-wide digital fluency, we put ourselves in a unique position in the industry.”

Also joining the new group's leadership team will be Havas Media France CEO Dominique Delport, who becomes global managing director of Havas Media Group, taking responsibility for commercial activity for all countries and all brands, strategy, new business, digital integration and intelligence.

He said: “Our clients need change and innovation more than ever because beyond media, digital affects any business with great opportunities but also potential disruption. Understanding the relationship between brands and consumers, especially for the growing digital generation, is essential.

“Our aim is to form a new company that lies at the intersection of the traditional international holding groups and the new style of innovative, digital companies. It's an exciting challenge for our clients and our teams.”

Michel Sibony, described by Havas as 'global head at middle office', will manage all global planning and buying operations as well as the group's digital and specialist offers.

Sibony said: “We need to guarantee our clients more consistency in every market and more speed in the delivery of this change to provide greater effectiveness and more efficiency when leveraging the new technological given by data management and technological platforms.”

Another aspect of the changes is that Havas' specialised units, including Artemis (the group's global data management network), Mobext (mobile network) and Socialyse (social media) will become more accessible to both the newly formed Media Group and the recently restructured Havas Creative Group.

The reorganisation follows last September's rebranding of all of Havas' Euro RSCG Life agencies as Havas Health (a brand that was itself formerly known as Havas Worldwide Health).
