IQVIA collaborates with MuleSoft

Will deliver integration technology to life science companies

IQVIATechnology solutions and contract research group IQVIA, formerly known as Quintiles IMS, has formed a strategic alliance with MuleSoft, a software company based in San Francisco, US.

MuleSoft, which provides a platform for building application networks, runs a ‘hybrid integration platform’ known as Anypoint that powers IQVIA’s Lexi.

Lexi allows life science organisations to connect company wide data and applications in a ‘standard’ and ‘streamlined’ manner, and when coupled with Anypoint, users can build solutions from different cloud-based platforms such as Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, and Box.

Brent Hayward, senior vice president of global channels and alliance, MuleSoft, said: “By creating an application network through API-led connectivity, IQVIA is enabling life science companies to accelerate product development, unlock new revenue channels and improve the clinician and patient experience.

“We look forward to partnering with IQVIA as they develop new offerings and grow their application network.”

Lexi is one of three new technology solutions that drive IQVIA’s ‘next-generation’ offerings. It is complemented by artificial intelligence engine Ada, and intuitive user interface Apollo.

Tal Rosenberg, senior vice president, global technology solutions, IQVIA, said: “We selected MuleSoft to power our Lexi solution because it is exceptional at enabling industry integration platform as a service (IPaaS) technologies.

“Our collaboration with MuleSoft advances our strategy of building outstanding enterprise-grade technology on a foundation of intelligence, standards-based technology platforms.

“This allows us to focus on our areas of differentiation such as our cutting-edge information management, analytics and technology, which deliver the greatest value and benefit to our life science clients.”

IQVIA has said it plans incorporate Lexi in an upcoming content orchestration solution.
