IQVIA partners with Box

Will work on managing content for the life science industry

IQVIAIn a bid to strengthen its Platforms of Platforms strategy, technology solutions and contract research group IQVIA - formerly known as Quintiles IMS - has partnered with Box, a cloud-based content management platform provider.

Announced at the eyeforpharma conference in Barcelona last week, the new partnership will see IQVIA use the Box platform to help clients protect against security threats and boost clients’ efforts in managing ‘complex’ compliance requirements.

Riju Khetarpal, managing director, global life sciences at Box, said: “We’re excited to welcome an innovative company such as IQVIA into the Box technology partner programme.

“With the IQVIA collaboration, our joint customers will be able to seamlessly address the unique and complex challenges of managing content within the life science industry.”

Under the agreement, IQVIA will build its suite of integrated applications to manage regulated and non-regulated content for life science customers on Box’s cloud-based content collaboration platform.

These applications aim to help clients manage complex workflows, increase global visibility and apply security and data retention policies throughout the product lifecycle.

Commenting on the agreement, Tal Rosenberg, senior vice president, global technology solutions at IQVIA, said: “Our alliance with Box shows our commitment to developing innovative technology solutions built on an integrated Platform of Platforms strategy.

“This allows our customers to maintain the flexibility to work with best-in-class providers like Box, which is an innovative, high-growth organisation that will help us deliver industry-first technologies for efficiently managing content from R&D through commercial to our customers around the world.”

IQVIA first introduced its Platforms of Platforms strategy in April 2017 following its alliance with Salesforce, a customer relationship management company, which saw IQVIA build on its life science specific solutions.

Meanwhile, IQVIA also launched its orchestrated customer engagement solution to the European market, connecting those in operations, IT, sales, marketing and other functions, and enabling the sharing of data and more accurate data reporting.
