Doctors.net.uk has been acquired by M3 USA, an international online healthcare company.
M3 has companies across the world, comprising physician communities in Japan, Korea, the US and Germany. This deal sees the further expansion of its global online healthcare network.
The acquisition follows M3's purchase of London-based EMS Research in November 2010 and Doctors.net.uk's launch of the Networks in Health alliance of European doctor communities in May this year.
The M3 group now has access to over 1.5 million physicians for market research, education and healthcare promotions.
Aki Tomaru, chief executive officer of M3 USA, said: “Concurrent with our investment in MDLinx.com to serve the US healthcare market, this acquisition allows us to dramatically extend our services to doctors and the healthcare sector in the UK.
“This is stepping stone for M3 to expand further into Europe and it signals our commitment to providing the life science industry full global access.”
Richard Adams, chief executive of Doctors.net.uk, said: “Doctors.net.uk has for some time been working towards adding a strong international footprint, comprising communities in key healthcare markets, to complement our leading position in the UK.
“We believe that to best serve our members and our client interests, being part of a larger, multinational organisation will bring enormous advances and benefits.
Adams concludes: “With a truly global footprint, M3 offers access to a compelling range of resources and this exciting move will enable us to enhance and introduce many new services and solutions.”
